When you are confident of your self-worth and have a strong moral compass the more unwavering you must be about about surrounding yourself with people who share the same values. Good intentions aren’t enough if not coupled with action and follow-through.
You either have integrity or you don’t. There is no such thing as having integrity part-time or only when it is convenient. Integrity is when your good intentions meet your actions – on a consistent basis.
Finding people who embody integrity and a character defined by strong values is hard to find. So when you do, appreciate them. Invest in them. Stand up for them. Love them. And despite any differences or disagreements along the way, always choose loyalty. Loyalty is the glue that binds relationships, and without it, you don’t have much of a foundation at all.
Know how to identify the ones who will be there for a lifetime verus the ones who are only meant to last a season. In your heart, know where people stand and invest accordingly.
If you want to know someone, all you need to do is take a look at who they surround themselves with. You are the sum of the company you keep. So choose wisely.
